Biography

Mark Francis (b.1990) studied Composition and Performance (Joint Principal Study) at the Royal Northern College of Music from 2008-2012 with Gary Carpenter and Larry Goves. Mark returned to complete his Undergraduate composition studies at Leeds Conservatoire and graduated in October of 2025. Mark's music has been performed in Concerts in Italy, Germany and the UK including Leeds International Concert Series. He has received commissions from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM Wind Weekend 2009, RNCM Ensemble Weekend 2010)  and has written for Decca signed Pianist Ellis Arey. Mark's music has been performed by the Marsyas Trio and members of Opera North and has been recorded by John Garner. Mark is currently studying for a Masters in Composition at Leeds Conservatoire with Tom Harrold.
